This rope has a soft braid; it would make a nice boat anchor rope. But I don't think it would be too robust if using it where it would be rubbing against abrasive / rough surfaces.I bought it to tie down my Shelter Logic greenhouse. The cord stretched and frayed within less than a year and proved nearly useless. (I've done this before successfully with different rope successfully.)UPDATE: I removed the cord yesterday. Indeed the outer layer was frayed in many places but the three internal strands were not, and none were broken. So this held up pretty well under difficult conditions after all. It did stretch, though. I'd give it 3+ stars.I purchased this rope twice: order of 1 and an order of 2. I severely miscalculated how much rope I'd need to make a spider web Halloween decoration. But that's ok, because I can throw a roll in my Wife's car and one in my Jeep!The product came as described. It's a good size and rather soft. I haven't had any issues with the rope so far. I'm very pleased with what I received. Thank you and I may even buy again if I end up needing more.When melting the ends it smells like a polyethylene or a polypropylene not a nylon or a polyester. If true the sun will eat it up. For what im going to us it for it will be fine. You get what you pay for!Hard to tie a knot which this rope and it frays terribly.Good quality rope for holding up windscreens.This rope evidently isn't for outdoor / sun area usage. The outside covering of the rope degraded so bad that could not continue to use for the purpose of holding outdoor curtains in place.
